In a stately townhouse full of character, you don’t want a disruptive grid of joints breaking the grandeur. For this young family (their first home in the Kortrijk area), we were able to create a custom bathroom that unites two opposing tastes: his sleek and minimalist, hers warm and cosy, while preserving the authentic details.
We created a spacious walk-in shower with a custom bathtub, separated by custom glass and a clever storage cabinet that doubles as a comfortable bench and extra storage. Warm oak accents contrast with a sleek, stately interplay of lines. Unilin Formica, the steel countertop washbasin by Alape and white taps by Hansgrohe bring everything together into a whole that looks both warm and modern. The high ceilings and authentic oak elements were preserved.
The entire wet zone was finished in polyester (Polycoat) in RAL 9003, for a timeless, bright look. Polycoat is a glass-fibre reinforced polyester and 100% waterproof: no joints where dirt or mould can settle and a finish that remains crack-free. This way, you maintain the grandeur of the townhouse without spending time on maintenance.
