With sloped walls and a bath that had to make way for a safe shower, we created a 100% bespoke bathroom for this older couple in Wevelgem, near Kortrijk. What started as “replacing the bath with a shower” became, after consultation, a complete renovation: more functional, safer and more comfortable, with the sloped walls as a starting point rather than an obstacle.
We installed a compact toilet from Villeroy & Boch, bespoke furniture in a light wood tone with Blum drawers, a custom Corian washbasin and a mirror cabinet with LED lighting and invisibly integrated sockets. The floor was fitted with Unilin vinyl, the glass was custom-made and the walk-in shower features a Grohe rain shower. Everything is tailored to the sloped roof structure, ensuring every centimetre is used effectively.
The finish was seamless in polyester (Polycoat RAL 9010). Polycoat is a glass-fibre reinforced polyester and is 100% waterproof: no joints where dirt or mould can settle, and finished smoothly and safely right into the corners of the sloped walls. For an older couple, this means comfort and hardly any maintenance, so that time goes to each other, not to the bathroom.
