An attic under a sloped roof might not seem like an obvious place for a bathroom, until you design it seamlessly and smartly. For this family from Zandvoorde, near Ostend, we transformed the attic room into a fully-fledged family bathroom. The limited height of the sloped roof structure was a challenge, but it actually provided opportunities for a clever layout. With four daughters, open space for toiletries was essential, alongside a double washbasin for the parents and a spacious walk-in shower.

In the shower area, we opted for a ceiling-mounted Hansgrohe rain shower, and the ceramic washbasins were fitted with elegant Hansgrohe surface-mounted taps. A see-through mirror with silicone-free mounting keeps everything sleek and easy to maintain, while the central heating radiator with a blower warms the room up quickly. Bespoke cabinets and niches, along with false walls behind the toilet, create a dynamic play of depth, while contrasting Unilin vinyl tiles make the space feel visually larger.
All wet zones were finished in polyester (Polycoat) in RAL 9010. Polycoat is a glass-fibre reinforced polyester and 100% waterproof: there are no joints where dirt or mould can settle, and thanks to its elasticity—ideal for a wooden sub-structure that may shift slightly—the finish remains crack-free. This gives you a timeless attic bathroom that requires hardly any maintenance.

Yes. Our seamless bathrooms are finished in Polycoat, a glass-fibre reinforced polyester: seamless, 100% waterproof and low-maintenance.
Certainly! Polycoat is glass-fibre reinforced and therefore elastic, which means it remains crack-free, even on a wooden surface that may shift slightly. Ideal for an attic bathroom under a sloped roof.
